You are correct sir. I knew that it was locked before I bought it. I called superchips customer service, and they had no problem telling me that it was $100 to unlock. Only then did I make the purchase. I was just happy that I did not have to send it in.

yea on my 03 tranny is amazing now, and as far as horse power goes i can lighthem puppies up easy now nad i barked 2nd the other day and mines auto

 

Mine was barkin in 2nd before.... I wonder what it will do whenI really put my foot into it.... I guess I will see later this afternoon.

 

I wonder what kind of difference it would make on a manual tranny? It sounds like the biggest change seems to be to shift points.

 

I am sure that you will notice a change with the rev limiter and the throttle response. Not sure what else...

 

What keeps me and 4 buddies from doing this so we each spend only $100 to get our trucks programmed? True, we couldn't change programs or go back to stock, but it'd be fast!

This has to mean either the rest of us are floating their business by grossly overpaying for the product when new, or they're ripping us all off and should be selling the damn things for $200 to begin with.

 

I think it is both... I cant imagine that red etch-a-sketch can cost that much to make. But I am happy, cuz this thing rocks.

 

But that is why i did the FYI, so for those people that don't have one yet, they can try and find one like I did.
