Default Octane Booster

So my Superchips should be here any day now, but I have the classic problem that I just filled up with 89. Can I add an octane booster so I can immediately run the "performance" tune.

I know the smart money says to just wait until I have to fill up again, but I had to ask.

Thanks...

I wouldn't, the performance setting really advances the timing quite a bit, you'd probably not do any real damage, but the possibility does exist. Just use the economy setting for 87 octane for now, you'll still get better performance than stock, especially in the tranny shifts, then put high octane in the next tank and switch to performance tune...

I am using the 87 right now until I burn out this tank of gas. I thought of the octane booster, but then I realized, it will not take long for me to burn this tank. Even on the 87 tune, I feel a huge difference.

Try the 87 tune first, then go to the 91 for a while. Personally I like the 87tune with either 89 or 91better than the performance tune.

Truckin

Would you explain why you like it better? I am debating getting a programmer but with an 03 I dont have lots of options from the tuners out there.

I am just curious.

Thanks
