Default swapping mufflers

I am looking to make my truck louder, I currently have a super 40 series on it right now and am thinking of taking that out and putting in the 44 series si/do and getting 22 inch stainless steel exhaust tips..will doing this make my truck sound louder than what my truck would be with just the 40 series on it?

Thanks

i have the original 40 series on mine and its pretty loud. everyone tells me its the loudest truck around (short of a cutout). the new super 44 is suppose to compare in db to the original 40 but have a slightly different tone and a more rugged design. i would say get that. it also depends on how you have your pipes. out the back is going to be the quietest. mine are out the side. dumping it of course will be the loudest.

I thought the 40 series was the loudest that flowmaster had. My friend runs a bullet muffler on his Ram and it is loud. Just a summit 3" in/out unit dumped out the side of the truck. It is borderline obnoxious, that may be what you are looking for. The thing was cheap too.

Well if you decide to take it off I might buy it from you. Just depends on how much you are looking to get out of it.

The sooner you dump it, the louder it will be. The bigger the tips, the louder it should be. Not sure the 44 will be any louder.

Not quite. The 10 series 1 chamber is the loudest:

Its louder than the 40 series, but still has the same tone. I had one on my trans am for a while. It sounds great with an othewise stock exhaust, butwith headers and Y pipe it got obnoxiously loud.
