Are you happy with your lifted RAM?
Just seeing if anyone out there regrets lifting their ram!! When it comes to replacing the hubs i regret it jus because the price of the hubs but other than that i wouldnt change a thing would you?
I lifted my previous 1998 truck by 3" and added some 33" xterrain tires. Damn, did it look good, but after owning the truck for 10 years, I almost wished that I kept it at the stock level. The cost of maintaining the lift was the primary problem. First, gas mileage dropped drastically. I was actually getting less mileage on the highway than in the city. 11MPG City, and 10 highway (averaging about 75MPH). Towing was even worse at about 6 MPG. Larger tires cost more to replace too.
There were some benefits though. When Colorado was hit by that blizzard last year and the radio stations were telling everyone to stay indoors, I was doing donuts in the parking lots.

I replaced that truck with the one in my sig and will not be lifting it, even though I'll have to admit that the new lifted Rams look *nice*.

I'd love to lift mine when I've got the cash, but I only want about a 3" lift and so far the only place I've found that has a lift of that height is Rancho, and they won't support my manual tranny. They told me they've never tried it out on a manual before.

Don't let that stop you. I raised my entire garage 6" the summer before I bought this truck because I knew I was getting one and it had to fit. Of course I'll have to do it again if I get the truck lifted before I build a new house.

A Fourcar garage with 15 foot ceilings, two lifts, and a60gal.air compressor wouldbe a good start for me!!! And KREGIER you should try to work out a deal with rancho since they have never done the manual tranny before see if the will do some research and sevelopment on your truck!!![sm=happybounce.gif][sm=smiley20.gif]
If you read the 'fine print' in your auto insurance policy
it requires you to inform the insurance company in writing
if you modify the truck suspension.
If you don't do this
and you have an accident
particularly one where the truck rolls over
or loses control during hard braking, cornering or towing
you need to realize there will be two lawsuits:
the first lawsuit will be the 'normal' one between
you, your insurance company and the other people who were injured.
The second lawsuit will be your insurance company suing you
for modifying your suspension in a way that they will claim either
caused the accident or made it worse.
Even if you eventually win this second lawsuit
90% of the time the court
will not order the insurance company to pay your second lawyer
and you will have a huge legal bill to pay yourself.
It will also be hard to even FIND a second lawyer to defend you against
your insurance company.
During this second trial
the insurance company will 'strike off' any jury members that are young men
and you will be judged by mothers with children, grandmothers, grandfathers, etc
who won't share your views of lifted pickup trucks.
