switch for cab lights
ORIGINAL: mmstar23
i was thinking about a switch too since whenever i get in the truck i have my parking lights and fog lights running, even in the day. i wouldnt want the cab roof lights on in the day. so in order to do that i would hook it up to a switch. i thought instead of the roof where you wanted, put it on the space by the steering wheel, theres a smooth, flat square on both sides. kinda hard to get to but would look great

-You Want It off ( Like They Are Not Even There) During Daily Driving.
-And On When You Want Them To Show. ( With Running Lights On)
Follow My DIY and When It Comes To Wiring To The "Factory Wiring" Section. Your Would Simply Put An on/off rocker Switch Post Runing Lights. This Will Allow You To Turn Them on and Off With The Lights on.
do what? im sorry. im confused. when wiring all of them together like you did, one blue for positive and one black for negative, you wired it into the facotry plug and play in theA pillar. i dont get where you would splice into the conector in the A pillar and how to also wire a switch to the dash
No Plug and Play In The Pillar - It's Had To Be Spliced...
Ok Where I Ran The Blue Power Wire... There Should Be A Switch Placed Inline With That Wire. When The Switch is OFF, The Cab Lights Will Not Work No Matter What. With The Switch ON It Will Only Work With The Lights on...
Don't Know How Else To Explain It.

ok, so from the power source (inside the A pillar) run a power (positive) wire from the A pillar source to the switch. from the switch have another blue wire go to the cab lights. what do i do with the negative/black wire?
ok i got it now, i just looked over your diy again and its pretty simple. after looking at that, i see how to do it but realize its such a PIA i might just not do it. to put it by the steering wheel i would have to run a wire all the way to the otherside and then all the way back. i dont really think its worth it. ill jsut keep my parking lights off during the day once i get them. turn it on in the morning on the way to school and from dusk on.

But Once Again... Why Not Just Let The Lights Be On ( Like The Would Be Stock) With The Lights on????
and Once The HL Is Down It Would Not Be Hard at All My Firend...
