Anybody using one of these?
I am old fashion and for what (or any) value it may have the trouble it may cause would be a disaster. The bolt is tried and true not to give any problems. If you look in the owners manual it gives torque values for almost all items on the vehicle. If you are concerned about stripping the pan, use a torque wrench and torque to factory specifications. Good luck on your decision.
Well, it has never been an issue on our combines, or my cat, wich is always in the dirt/dust/grime. bumps tall nasty weeds, etc, etc.
I have never seen, or heard of one of these accidentaly opening. I think if you hit one hard enough to knock it open, you would have other major problems, like a dented case, broken pan.
On ours, you have to push up, or down while, moving the valve, i dont think you could accidentaly open it by rattles/soft impact

Fixing a stripped hole isn't really that difficult. Definitely not difficult enough to warrant the use of something like this. If you are that paranoid about stripping holes out buy a torque wrench. It will get much better use and can work on more than one bolt.

I think the funny thing about the responses here is that I never knew the thingy existed and it was brought to my attention on one of the off-road forums I'm on, where the little do-dad has attracted quite a following...

I'm really surprised at you HammerZ, how could you not know about this.......Jeez...........I'm revoking your Dodge pass..
all of our cars that we've done a coolant flush on have something similar in the drain plug on the block. it was like a 3' pipe, with a little brass fitting on it like that to make it easier for next time.

I was a hydraulics expert in the military....I have seen too many valve bodies leak man.....if i were to use one I would have to take it apart and see how well its made...... as far as convenience....looks pretty damn good....I would say use it if you dont plan on beating things on your truck....if you drive like me you may want to get a reinforced bolt with a security guard shack lmao....
I had the Fram unit on my Gen 2. It worked flawlessly for over three years. Forgot about it when I traded. Couldn't find a Fram replacement locally, and online it was as much as the Fumoto. The Fram wasn't quite as easy to use, so I switched.
