ok i have two 12 inch kickers in the storage bins but pioneer has 8 inch subs that are very thin and i made 2 boxs that fit under each seat for them and they really do sound good i didnt think 8s would do anything but they really do sound good and all u would need is a 500 watt amp and u can put that anywhere cuz its so small

New to the forum here. But I too have been struggling with this issue. I've got a 05 Ram QC 3500 DRW.
What I'm thinking is leavingthe center console AS IS. Lift up the lower section and take a look. From what I gathered, there is about .5 of air space in there.
Idea is touse a3/8" sheet of Plexiglas to cover the top.Usinga Kicker Solo-Baric 8"L7, (min is .33) mounted firing up, mounted on the undersideof the Plexiglas, and using 1" Plexiglas blocks to reinforce the corners underneath.Screw the sheet down onto the plastic bucket lip already there. Flip the arm rest (top) back down and away we go. (I wouldn't have anyone sit there though)
Anyone have any thoughts about this idea? Good, bad, all welcome.
Dave

I took that plastic liner out in the middle of the front bench . built a box with 1/2' MDF . Was going to just put a cover over the top like Alaska Dave said. But it is open underneath and wont seal properly. I used a Rockfard Fosgate 12' and mounted the amp under the drivers seat.
