Help! Won't start..crank or anything!
Yep...tried to jump it and it did nothing. Dodge is now into it for a PCM and Ignition Switch and 3 tows and the problem is still not solved.... Not to mention the hole in my garage and the rear end damage to the truck.... Frustrating!!!
Uh-------------did anybody bother to check the solonoid switch on the starter????
Or at least see if you are getting voltage to it when you turn the key to crank it??
According to the FSM, you have a starter relay in the power dist panel. Plus the solonoid on the starter itself. Find the relay and when its not starting, open the power box and see if you can hear it clicking in, if not replace it. If it clicks in, check to see if you getting voltage at the starter to the solonoid switch---small wire----, if yes, replace solonoid switch on starter or the entire starter.
Then download the FSM. Its free no less----or better yet, do that first The Road Map to your truck!!!!

Funny you should bring this up...
I had the EXACT same problem last Friday with my '06 2WD QC. It was sleeting here in MS (which doesn't happen often) and I was trying to leave work. Turn the key, get lights and radio, but doesn't even attempt to crank. Nothing. No click, just nothing. Tried like 10 times. So I wait about 5 minutes and try again, fires right up and been running fine ever since.
Oh yeah, no codes were throw either so I can't prove anything to the dealer. Let me know if you find out what's going on, and I'll do the same.

Would def get them to try another starter motor, i had this exact same thing on a discovery. Sat there for ages and wouldn't start, tow truck came loaded it on and it started. Went to stealer and they said they couldn't find anything wrong, brought it back and it wouldn't start. Once they put a new starter motor on it was fine. Oh also get them to check the earth wire as it might just be something as simple as that.
Yes, my truck has the Security Group which includes the Sentry Key Theft Deferrent System. Do you really think this is the problem? Why does it seem to be hit and miss? It started fine for the dealer about 10 times in a row and the finally it didn't start. Does this make sense?
Ok...just got a call from the dealership. They say that they found a corroded wire between two of the computer modules. Apparently, the PCM didn'tneed to be replaced initially but it was not communicatingregularly due to the corroded wire so they thought it went bad and replaced it. They claim that they were able to jiggle this wire around and eventually the truck started. They have replaced the corroded wire and have heat wrapped it so it's protectedand shouldn't corrode again. We'll see if they REALLY fixed it this time.....
