Yet Another Gear Question
Well, I thought I had everything covered for this gear instillation. Just have a couple more questions:
I've been told that the front axle on my 04 1500 4x4 is a chrysler 8.0. I also researched around a bit and found that thefront is a crysler C205F, which im showing to be a 8.25.
I need to know for sure which one I haveso I can order my instillation kit.

The 205 stands for millimeters. 205mm = 8.070866142 inches. My sticker in the glove says 205MM.
You have an 8" ring gear, just like mine.
Go to ring-pinion.com and look up your truck.

You DO NOT want to spec. an 8.25" ANYTHING!!! A Chrysler 8.25" is a REAR DIFF from older Chrysler products and can be recognized by the oval 10 bolt rear cover & 27 or 29 splines. This is most commonly found on Diplomats, Darts, New Yorkers, Fifth Avenues from the 70s & 80s, although it did find it's way into some 1/2 ton vans, trucks and Dakotas.
You want the 8.0" Chrysler which is for current IFS front diffswhich can be recognized by a distinct 10 bolt cover with eight sides and26 splines. Anything you order for your front end should be specifically for the 8.0 IFS differential... Any install kits I have ever seen are designated as C8.0-IFS...
