I'm not a Dodge expert, ...have been looking into the 4th gen 20" chrome and polished wheels, ...are the chrome wheels indeed actual "chrome", ...or do they have a chromed plastic over the aluminum rim?
Sorry if this sounds like a 'dumb' question, ...but while looking into these I commonly see them described as "chrome clad", ...which has me wondering... Are the real chrome or not? OR ...do both exist?

I think you answered your own question. If they're chrome clad, they are just that.

I've seen these rims on some trucks and they sure look like real chrome (even from a few feet away)??

,,,my apologies for trying to be so specific here, ...but I just want to be sure on this. I wouldn't mind a set of chrome rims (initially I was looking into the polished), ...but if the 'chrome' is a chromed plastic cladding over the wheels, ...it has me wondering.

 

as far as i know, they are all chrome clad.

 

I am pretty sure you can get both "chrome" and "chrome clad", 2 of my friends both have the 20's on their trucks and they both say they have chrome rims but when you look at them you can tell they are different one looks a lot shinier with is the chrome. thats what ive came up with.

I did just take a real close look at a local Dodge in the area here, ...and without touching the guys rims, ...it sure looks like the truck I was looking at has real chrome rims. Wheel weights on the outer rim, ...right on the chrome,...so I'm not sure how that coul be 'cladding'. If it is,...it's pretty convincing...

 

My 20's on my 07 Laramie are chrome clad (plastic). They have the wheel weights right on the "chrome" as well. If you just take your fingernail and lightly flick the rim you will be able to tell very easily if they are plastic.

there all plastic covers.....if i remember right, you could get actual "chrome" 20" stock in 03 but only for like half a year....the SRT-10 22" are real...meaning no plastic cover, but those are polished...or black in some cases
