I just ordered my first brand new truck. Had to order because I wanted the 1500 quad cab short bed 4x4 SXT, hemi, 3.92 gears, tow mirrors, 34 gallon tank, and anti slip diff. None of the dealerships around here could find me anything really close to what I wanted. For any of you who have ordered one before, it is supposed to ship from St. Louis on the 13th. They did not really give me a timetable of when to expect it to be here. Wondering if anyone might have an idea how long it will take to get to eastern idaho. Till then I am just hoping the rebates don't change in a bad way... Thanks for any info....

Yeah it is an 08', metallic silver. Can't wait till I can see it to get some pics. A ll I could test drive with the 17" wheels had the 3.55 gears, and I was impressed so I can't wait to see how much difference there is with the 3.92's.

Has anybody here ever ordered their new truck or has everyone just bought on off the lot? Just wondering if they usually stick to there ship date and fast they ship or if it usually gets drug out for a while?

Order my 08 truck with a 6 to 8 week delivery period and received it after 5 weeks, mine was built in Mexico and delivered to Canada.

 

My '08 was also a factory order, no chance of finding a QC 4X4 with the 6-speed manual. Truck was on the dealer lot in 4 weeks flat from the day I ordered, coming from St. Louis and arriving in West Central Ohio. They can move freight across country every bit as fast as you can drive the interstates, so no more than an additional day of travel time to get to Idaho. Hate to get your hopes up, and see them dashed, but I'd wager you will see her a lot closer to 4 weeks than 8. And by the way congrats on getting a great truck!

 

Chrysler rebates are protected when you order. If it gets better, you can get the better one, if worse you can keep what was in effect at the order time

 

We sent the order in on the 30th I beleive and the dealer told me it was supposed to ship on the 13th.I will have to ask about the rebates, the way I understood was if I ordered one I would just get the rebates they have when it comes in. They really wanted me to buy the one on their lot though. It had the 3.55 gears and no anti-slip diff. so I chose to order what I wanted instead.Thanks for the info..

 

On 1/24 I ordered an 08 1500 QC 4x4 Laramie with Anti-slip, Shift on Demand, Tow package, Navigation, and power roof for 32385. What did you pay for yours? I'm thinking of getting thier Protection Package, bumper to bumper warranty for 100000 miles. Some people say don't buy it. Dodge will worm thier way out of honoring it. Anyone have any experiance with this?
