Yep, a limited slip rear end would help a bunch, it's on my list of wants for my 2x4, but that's just mainly for when I'm out in the snow... My truck is too pretty to get all muddy.... lol

Why would you want to put a LSD on a piece of wood?
you wont get through the gravel in the parking lot with the stock rubber. but other than that, you should be fine, limtied slip, and some good tires will get you a long way.
Lift it and put some 35"s on it, make it a pre-runner

don't venture in to far, i went in my truck, but very light mud
one of my friends in a tundra without LSD got stuck bad! we had 2 trucks hooked up to him and couldn't pull him out.. had to get a tow truck out there ha, i'll attach a picture.. it looks better than it was.
he now has a 2008 powerjoke [&:] with a 6 inch lift and 35's ( and 4x4 of course lol )

I used to go wheelin in my Acadian when I was a kid, had a really agressive pair of winter tires on it. IfI didn't think I would make i I went faster. Not a great idea in your truck. Butit can still be pretty fun, a\gressive tires on the rear, maybe purpose tires, mounted on crappy rims you change out when you get to where your going. Air them down to about 5-10 PSI, really really helps a lot, just dont take them on the street like thatthey over heatfast. Get a buddy with a winch.

4x4'n in a 4x2.... I've owned3 dakota's and this is my second ram. I've yet to go mudding, off-roading, camping, ext... in a 4x4. Anyways, I've taken allmy trucks (all had Posi) off-road, mudding, and climbing in places i've seen 4x4 owmers say NO to. If you know what your doing, and you know how to feel the throttle, the truck, and the groundunder you, thenyou can have fun just about anywhere. I agree with everyone else though, GET BETTER TIRES. Those tires will get you stuck on wet pavement. I went and bought the Pirelli Scorpion A/T's. They work great to keep you in traction.
