Default Temperature Gauge

Hey does anyone know what the actual temperature is when the gauge is dead center as well as how hot it has to be for it to move all the way over to the H? My buddy has a 2002 4.7, we just wound up replacing the hoses, fan clutch and water pump and its working fine, but i was wondering about how the oil is, if it got hot enough to start breaking it down. He doesnt want to replace it and he runs regular (cheap ***) i use amsoil syn for my ram.

Thanks

The low end "C" is 54 Cor 130 F and the hi end is 122 C or 252 F.

Are You The Same One From Before? Did You Replace The Thermostat Or Check It To See If It Works Properly.

Parts/Service -Perfect answer thanks.

RedRam- i posted asking about my buddys cooling problem. It wound up to be the water pump that was the issue, when we pulled the old water pump out it was looser than a fat chick on dollar beer night. [sm=badidea.gif]

btw the way getting to the water pump wasnt bad, took about 35 min to get to take it off. Wound up clamping down on the water pump and putting your ***** into twisting off the fan clutch, when we first put the fan clutch on we used an air hammer so it was b!tch getting it off by hand.
