Ram Fog Light HELP

RE: Ram Fog Light HELP
My father has an 07 1500 without foglights and wants to add them. I went to the dealer and they said installed it would be about $300.
I think the parts are only about $160 so i thought i would do the labor myself, but have not worked on newer trucks that have programable modules.
Correct me if i am wrong but it seems that all i have to do is add the lights, wiring them into the harness that is already there, replace the headlight switch and have the computer reprogrammed.
Is that it or am i missing anything?
Also, is it possible to buy a Starscan tool? We have a lot of 3rd Gen Rams in my family so it would be helpfull to do the programing ourselves.
Thanks

RE: Ram Fog Light HELP
I just went through this.I bought the foglight kit, installed them and hooked them up to the existing harness. I then replaced the headlight switch with the new one.
I brought it in to have the PCM set to enable foglights. Funny thing is there is more to it than that. The option did not exist on the scan tool. The shop foreman had to go into the online dealer website and modify my VIN to include fog lights as a dealer installed option. Then he hooked up the scan tool to the PC and downloaded a new firmware that the PC created. At that point he was now able to see a selection for the fog's.
After all of this I can sort of understand why they would charge a half hour labour as it is a PITA. But I was lucky enough to have the shop foreman just say "forget it" when I went to pay.
Oh and PS, the option to disable the seat belt reminder chime is gone on the 08's
