Well I am in the market for a new truck. I have had my eye on an 08 2500 quad cab 4x4 with the 5.7. It has everything I want except for the power windows and locks. I would prefer not to have them. But it does however have the 6 speed tranny. Anyone else out there have anything like this? Anyone had any problems with the 6 speed? Any input would be great. Thanks in advance.

 

I swore by a stick shift from the age of 16 through my late 20s. Since then I have had automatic tranny's and will never go back unless there's a killer deal for a manual over an auto. I know this was not quite the answer you were looking for on this subject but it is my opinion on tranny's. As far as the power locks go, manual windows and locks are becoming a thing of the past. Look on the bright side of the power locks, they can be power locks but you can manually open them if you want. The only down side to the manual lock idea is that the key'd entry is only the driver's door.
