The More Driect Route = More Noise. Got It?
That is NOT always true. The Flowmaster is a less direct route thana Magnaflow yet it is louder.
True - But He Is Looking For Less Loud - More Free Flowing.

Flowmaster Takes Advantage of The Chambers And Creates The Rumble That You Hear..

Magnaflow Uses A Free Flow Design To Create Less Restriction On The Exhaust But Allow The Sound Waves To Be Absorbed Into Sound Damppening Material or Chamber. Like A Supressor on A Gun.

Woh, Alright. You Both Are Getting At The Same Point.. Just Making Different Suggestions..

Plain and Simple, Which Both Stated. The MoreObsicles Inside A Chameber Exhaust Has toGo Through The More Restricted The Flow. Thats Obvious.

The Less Obsicles Inside The Chamber, The More Free Flowing A Muffler Will Be.

Here Is A Cut Away Of A "free Flow Muffler".

Now The Stock Muffler (Eclipse)

The More Driect Route = More Noise. Got It?
No we're not getting at the same point....he's saying loud equals more flow and that's not even close to being true. Flowmasters super 40's are very loud and like every other chambered muffler they flow like ***...and magnaflows for example are quiet yet there's ZERO obstruction.

Look at all of them ---> http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/mufflers.htmlHell there's more obstructions to flow in a "flowmaster" then there is in that stock eclipse muffler you posted. Here's magnaflow with nothing but packing surronding a pipe with tiny holes in it--> http://www.magnaflow.com/wideopen/wideopen.asp. So if "more direct route= more noise" then explain that one. More direct route = more flow....not noise.

I agree with SeVeReDiStOrTiOn.

And yes, for what you're looking for, at least between the two it would be.

Dude you just completely countered everything in your ownlast post. You just posted pics of a quieter free flowing exhaust (magnaflow)and yet you say "more direct route= more noise"....the magnaflow is the more direct route.

Your gonna want the magnaflow, and keep the rear resonator, but loose the front. Will sound good when you get on it, sound good while cruising. but with the windows up you will hardly notice it is there, and you wont get the drone with the mds.

Why wouldnt I just keep the front resonator also. I want this thing to be as close to stock as possible. I hate the loud pipes and sound. Also im going to get the dual exhaust like the srt-10. And what is the name of the magna flow muffler i need to get?

Oh, i thought you wanted a little better sound, just not loud. By all means keep the front res then.

I dont know the name, or size. I just took mine to the muffler shop and they got the replacement size for me.
