First, Your post said Bluish white smoke.... usualy that is an indication of burning oil. (i.e. piston ring is bad, ect.) The red stuff on the ground... Feel it, coolant will feel just like water and act like water. Tranny fluid is hydro fluid. It is an oil, and will act nothing like water. You will touch it and you can smear it all over your finger and feeloily. Also, how big is the "spot" of liquid on the floor?

Coolant will not pull fluid from the res until the engine is hot, and the water is flowing. Means it may take a few miles before you will see the res go down.

Tranny will show full, even when it is dangerously low, if the vehicle has NOT been running. You need to start the vehicle, put it in each gear for atleast 10 seconds, then in Neutral. Then check the fluid. This will tell you if your really low or not. ALSO, get under the truck and feel the "clean and wet" spot behind the tranny. find out what type of fluid it is. (probabily tranny). Remember that the amount of oil in that area doesn't directly relate to the amount of fluid lost. Meaning that if it is tranny fluid, that very little can cover a large space.

I'd check the tranny, and keep looking forbluish smoke. Just watch your fluids, and keep an eye out for any other symptoms.

Unless you are out of warranty, why have you not taken it to Dodge yet?

That is not hard to believe, The gasket and bearing. The price of 350 seems a little steep though. Like foiled said, Check the dodge dealer. You may still have a warranty. My 05 came with a 7yr 75K mile warranty. This would be covered in that. If your not covered, DEFINATELY go to several different shops. try tranny specific shops too, They tend to be a little cheaper on tranny work...

Either way, the leak should not cause any harm. Check your tranny fluid every few days, maybe once or twice a week. as long as it is full you shold be fine for a while.
Good luck.

My dads power steering fluid was red from the factoy in is 03 ram 2500. I saw red fluid on the ground and thought it was tranny fluid and then saw it was the power steering pump.
