RE: Remote Start
here's one site you can look at, once you get the mopar part #, you could look all over on the internet... you can call your dealer and get prices, or order online...

I know for my 2008, the mopar remote start package came with 2 new keys that have the remote start button on it... however it looks like for pre-2008's that it's a pretty different system and you will get a key fob to hang on your keychain....

RE: Remote Start
looks like by the time you end up buying the components you could have gone to a reputable local shop and gone aftermarket with installation for the same price.
did it twice and both were about the same at 300+ bucks. idk if you can find internet prices to beat that. even so you still have to spend the time to install it.

Yep, pre 08 you will be stuck with another remote fob for your keychain. I know how disheartening this is b/c I too was looking to get one integrated into the key. It can't be done though. You might as well go aftermarket, it's a lot cheaper, and you're adding another fog anyway...

RE: Remote Start
If you have a grey key they will need to make a key to stick under the dash board so the truck will start, but if your key is black they dont need to. In my opinion i find the factory remote starts is work nothing unless the vehicle in in close sight. I go after market I just got an Automate AM9 installed but you donthave to get that one but i do reccommend that brand, the only downfall for you is that you will have a remote but it replaces you stock one.. my .02 anyways stephen

RE: Remote Start
My local Ziebart dealer does good quality remote start systems. They told me with a new Ram I has two choices, one would be a totally new single button remote to only do the rem st, and use the key for the remote lock/unlock function, or option two is integrate the remote start system into the Dodge key. He told me the best bet would be the extra remote because the range will be much better than just using the key as the rem st. They work on many Dodge Ram's so I trust that they know what they are talking about.

RE: Remote Start
I got the mopar remote starter for $400, installed at the dealer. It's not the two-way starter (wasnt released yet), but i havean exhaust cutout which does the jobtelling me when the truck's started. But on the mopar website it shows theone-way starter at $100and it's another $100 toupgrade the starter to a two-way. Both come with an additional fob for the starter.

These links are for the 06,I dont know what year your truck is.The one way starter is the same price for 06-08, but it only shows the two-way for 06.
