Firestone Air Bags. DIY Included...
I'm going to install mine tomorrow. I bought a used set.
I work on semi trailers. So I'm on the look out for a good tank. If I can't find one, I will buy one. Then maybe an electric compressor off Ebay. I'm trying to figure how to install a leveling valve, so it will all be automatic. Load it down and it will raise it back up. I already have a leveling valve. I just need the other stuff.

Wait till you see when your fully loaded and you hit a bump. It is so cushiony smooth. The reason mine was melting was becuase I took the exhaust pipe off from the muffler back for a while. Now it put back on but I cut the pipe right behind the spare so Theres no exhaust that the eye can see. Was it just me or were those self locking nuts a pain in the *** to get all the way on when bolting up the lower mount that below the axle.
I can't believe I missed this whole thread regarding air bags, but I've not been on much the last couple of weeks. Oh well, it seems everything is well in hand. By the way, I was riding in a 1/2 ton truck with a set of "helper springs" on the rear last weekend (helping a girl I used to work with move) and the thing was terrible over bumps and RR tracks when empty. You are gonna be SO glad you went with air bags. I am...
