ABS pump runs constantly when key is off
I have a problem that developed today. When driving home from work my ABS and brake warning lights came on and I heard a whining noise from under the hood. When I got the truck home and turned off the ignition, I heard the noise and opened the hood. I felt the ABS pump and it was the noise. Any suggestions? Maybe ( I hope) a reset for the pump? A definite service problem? I had to remove the negative connection of the battery to get the pump to stop. [:@]
Thanks guys,

RE: ABS pump runs constantly when key is off
Hi Toolman74,
Yeah,I left the battery disconnected for about 20 minutes when I got home and reconnected and itstarted running again. So I left the battery disconnected for tonight. I will try it again tomorrow morning. The pedal did not feel mushy and I didn't notice a loss of braking power. But I only drove it about 7 blocks in the neighborhood to the house. I should have noticed something but it felt ok. I thought I smelled some what I would call "fluid burn" or real hot fluid, not motor oil. There were no leaks on the ground where I parked in the driveway either.
