fuel system cleaners

RE: fuel system cleaners
If you pull seafoam in through the vacuum line it will cause quite a smoke show. You will think that yourtruck is going to blow up. But it is just burning off the carbon in your system. I haven't used it on my Ram yet, but I have on my Blazer and Explorer. I also add some to the gas tank about every 5th tank to clean the injectors.

RE: fuel system cleaners
I use Sea Foam twice every oil change in the tank to help keep the injectors clean plus absorb any water that may be laying in the fuel rails. The 5.7 doesn't have a fuel return line as the fuel pressure regulator is in the pump, not up at the rails. There have been some problems in earlier rams that was caused by rusting in the fuel rails, lodging rust flakes in the top of the injectors. The only fix is to pull the rails and injectors and clean them out-----not to mention replacement of the rails to stop a reoccuring problem. I haven't done the vacuum line at the brake booster cleanup yet, but plan to this summer when the weather is a little better. Haven't had any codes or problems yet, just turned 71K.
