I have tried many things. I put in a K&N filter, fuel additives, and platinum plugs. The best possible thing I have found to save fuel is stay @ 65 on the highway, set your cruise. Another thing is teaching your self how to drive again. By this I mean, stop light, getting on the highway, anytime you are taking off, easy on the pedal. The throttle response on these trucks are great, so most people tend to use the led foot approach. Patience Daniel Son.

Learn to drive the truck like the other guy said.first couple months I was hitting 12 even 11 mpg (buddy has v10 excursion 8.6mpg) then I paid attention to shift points. Unless youre needing to accel to get onto a road and traffic doesnt permit an easy accel you really don't need to go above 3 grand on the tach. As for the best hwy speed it depends on your gear rat, I have a 4.7 geared with a 3.92 rear dif. At 73 mph the tach is a 2k, I generally keep it at 69.
My avg fuel econ is 15.7. Only change to truck is k&n air filter (not CAI), run amsoil xl oil and filter.
Don't hesitate to punch it though, like the high pitch sound at 6k

13 is the typical MPG reported for mixed driving
on both 4.7 and 5.7 3rd Gen Rams
and also for 5.2 and 5.9 2nd Gen Rams
By learning 'Hypermiler' driver habits
it is likely the typical Ram owner can go from 13 to 15 MPG
By making tire changes to reduce rolling resistance
and some aerodynamic tweaks to allow the truck to slip through the wind better
you can do a bit better still
