so my buddy is wanting to buy a used 03-04 ram round 60-70k miles. what are some things I should tell him to be sure to check out when looking at some? want to make sure he doesnt get a lemon. so common problems, etc..

 

CARFAX should be the first place you check.
Then just look for wear and tear on the vehicle.Smoker nonsmoker owner, the little things.

 

most common problems I've seen with the Ram is leaking A-pillars and power steering issues.

 

I know this is kindof a question that cant be exact, but how many miles should one be able to expect out of a ram qc 4wd? If it is only going to be dependable for a 100k, might should look for one with alot less miles. I havent seen many folks with alot of miles on here, deffinetly not many over 90k

 

Universal joints. Our 04 ate 4 in 26000 miles.

 

+1 On Power Steering Issues.. Simple Fix Though

 

I would make sure and check all the fluids trans for burnt smell, and see if person has any service records like the diff service and transfer case.

check to c if the passenger window switch works, very common problem

 

Look for cracks in the dashboard. Not as common in the 3rd gen but still happens.[:@]
