High idle
This weekend I changed the plugs on my Dodge Ram 4.7.
used BOSCh PLATINUM Plus - 4030.
After driving the idle started going up - now the truck wants to idle at about 1800 rpm.
I don't get any check engine lights or codes.
My first thought was that I knocked loose a vacuum hose but I have not been able to identify anything loose.
I can't imagine the plugs would cause this but that is the change.
Any advice would be appreciated - otherwise I guess I will be taking it to the dealer to try and determine my issues.
Thanks again for any advice of things to check.
Kind Regards,

The plugs wouldn't cause that...even though i'm not a fan of bosch plugs. I've had issues with them in the past with misses and whatnot. So it wants to idle at 1800 in gear or out or gear? Did you disconnect the battery when you changed the plugs for some reason? I'd double check all lines and sensors that are in the area of the plugs, wires and anywhere your arms/hands were.
Thanks. It drops in idle a little under a load but basically stays high; although under accelaration it responds normally.
I have checked several times that everything is connected, and have not identified anything loose or disconnected.
I guess I am off to the dealer tomorrow.

Before oyu go to the dealer, try resetting your PCM.Unplug the negative from your battery for 45 seconds then reconnect.Start your truck and let it idle.If it still continues I guess the dealer is your only hope.
Disconnecting the battery for forty-five seconds won't reset the PCM. Pull the PCM fuse (make sure you know where it was), then get in the truck. Close the door and fasten the belt (to make the chime shut up). Turn the key to on. You'll hear several chimes and lights will flash on the panel. Once that's settled down (thirty sec. or so), put the fuse back in an' start 'er up.
I didn't see the year 4.7 you have. You might want to check the position of the throttle body if you have a pedal by wire. On the older 4.7's that still have the accelorator pedal check to see if the cable is caught on something, or where the cable attachs to the throttle body for a foreign item thats gotten in between where the cable mounts to the lever and the cable stop.
I did disconnect the battery cable and that made no differance. I will try the fuse as suggested.
By the way the vehicle is a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7.
I will also double check the cables for any obstuction, but I think I already checked this; it can't hurt before I take it to the dealer.
I also had the codes read today at my local auto zone and the check engine light started comming on.
The doed read was P0507 - Idle Control System - RPM High.
I have an appointment tomorrow with my local dealer if all else fails.

Well I took it to the dealer this morning. Which I will add the people at my Dealership in Franklin TN are always very good to work with.
They found a piece of plastic wedged into the valve on the A.I.S. Motor.
The truck has a K& N intake and I guess when the hole was drilled for the valve on it there must have been a piece of plastic left. Although that has been on the truck for over a year so who would have though.
Thanks for everyones input - I really appreciated it.
