Default Bull bar install question

I'm looking at buying a bull bar, says no drilling, install easy.

I've never gotten up close and looked to see how one is mounted on the frame. Can anyone just give me a quick idea on whats involved.

Thanks

I just installed the aries bar on my 06 ram and it was pretty easy. It really is no drill. Behind your front bumper there are 4 bolts that you remove and all you do is put the brackets in and reinstall the bolts, the hardest part was removing the black valance that hangs below the front bumper, it needs to be cut in order for the bar to mount under. It looks really good on our trucks

Yep, no drilling needed. 8 total bolts. 4 for the brackets to the frame and 4 for the bar to the brackets. You don't have to cut the black piece in the front if you don't want to, you can just leave if off if you want. I cut mine as I have the trumpets for my horns in that area and want them covered from outside viewing. Took me about 20 minutes to do mine.

next dumb question, im gonna have a shop install lights...
the wiring runs inside the tube and comes out where the bolts are?
in other words can i mount the bull bar and have the shop do the lights later so i dont have to pay for the install cost of the bull bar?
sorry for sounding ignorant [sm=helpout.gif]

heres the bull bar im looking at, the only thing, for the lights it says max 4.5 inch, im having a hard time finding any lights that are that small, all the kc's are at least 5 or more, dont like the rectangle look.

Man You Guys Are Killing Me With The Whole, Scurred To Wire... Issue. Most Fog Light Kits Your Buy Comes With The Wire, Fuse, and A Switch. Literally The Hardest Part Is Finding Where You Want The Switch.

RamIt - That Bull Bar Looks BAD *** and Has Me Thinkin' of One Myself.. But I Know You Can Wire Your Lights. Yes Its Nice To Just Pay Someone To Do It. But They Dont Care About Your Vehicle As Much As You Do.

Set Sometime Aside, Take Your Time. Heck I'll Give You My Cell Number And I'll Walk You Through It. The Satisfaction Doing It Yourself, Makes It All Worth It!

We'll see, you saw how i wired my under hood light.

Below is where id like to have the switch wired, dont know how id get to it, id settle for near parking break and hood release.

here are the lights i want, i emailed the mfg to see if that 4.5 inch max is really its max.

or

something with at least 200,000 candlepower.

If anyones has any ideas on a good 4.5 inch long range light id appreciate it. When i go to the coast i face my truck to the surf and run my lights at night so we can have light to swim, it works well (have silverstars) right now, but want something stronger. Want to be able to guide a ship in lol. Too bad those kool kc HID pod lights are a 1000 bucks.

Oh yeah RedRam they have it in black since you have the sport, see more people with black bars when they have a sport edition.

Ehhh Weekdays Are Tough. LoL I Know It Seems Like I Am On All The Time. But Normally on The Phone - or on Call Most The Day. Bought A Smart Phone - DF Comes in Really Fricken Well.
But Weekends Would Be The Best.

What Would They Want for The Black? Or Actually Raw Steel - I Am Getting My Wheels Powder Coated as Soon As The Tigerdrylac Rep. Calls Me Back. Could Have Them Do That Also.

I Have NO Idea How KC's Are Nowadays, But My Buddy Had Them on His Ram and They Rusted Pretty Bad - They Were "Stainless" But The Trim Rings and Bolts Were Not. Cause His Hole Roll Bar To Bubble The Chrome and Rust. Like I Said, I Have No idea How They Are Nowadays - But Just Warning Ya.

Well Me Personally, Would Reccomend A Round Switch. You Can Hide It, or Make It Look OEM. That Way You Can Just Drill A Hole To Install It. I Also HATE When My Controls Are In The Passangers Reach, LoL. Most of The Dash Has Either Clips or Screws Holding It Together. Making It Quite Easy To Removedand Properly Drill And Mount The Switch.

for the black its 169 out the door, shipping included (fedex ground) and since youre not in tejas you shouldnt have to pay tax either. mine was 240 w/ tax. i think its a great buy, like how the skid plate looks.

ill definitley look into wiring the lights myself. never done it. assume wire it in to the fuse box and then run it into the cab? but i have no clue. ill guess ill just wait and see what it comes with. the other thing ive been wanting to buy are some strobe lights, recon sells some (kinda steep in price). main reason is i take my truck over medians (grass and concrete) also since theres a ton of construction in san antonio i quite often use the un open roads to bypass traffic. figure if i throw on some strobes itll make me look like i belong out there.

good to know about the rusting, may go with a black light housing (dont know how that would look with a stainless S bar)

what kind of phone, ive been a huge blackberry fan, most recent the pearl, had it for 1 year, just bought an iphone, keep the pearl as a second line phone. iphone is bad ***. i hesitated at first cause of the touch screen keyboard, i usually do 3000 text msg and 1000-1500 emails a month, so i got frickin fast on the pearls keyboard. i got used to this keyboard though, still kinda hard to text while driving since there is no feel. With the blackberrys i could text paragraphs without looking.
