I think the Lone Star edition was a base model with 20's, carpet, the 40/20/40 split SLT seat , a/c, optional HEMI and the badges... They had been offering a Texas/Oklahoma package down here for years, (going back to the last body style that offered similar upgrades but not quite making them SLT's) even though there isnt really any difference after adding all of that anyway.

The Lone Star and the Big Horn are the same truck just with a different name. I gues Dodge felt the truck would sell better in Texas with a name like Lone Star. Go to Edmunds.com and research the trucks options and you will see. As far as the badging goes, it looks as though they stopped doing it in 05. Sun roof is an option but has nothing to do with being a Lone Star or Big Horn. Just my two cents.

That's interesting about the badging. What state are you in? I was in Mississippi last month for training and I checked out a few lots there and none of their trucks had the badging. I ended up buying last week from a local dealer in Texas and again none of theirs had the badging either. I guess it really doesn't matter unless you want the badging. You can always remove it if you don't like it.

It sounds alot like you can get the same options of a Big Horn or Lonestar without the name. Why would Dodge do this? Kinda confusing. I'm a fan of the Thunderroad name, but I realized that its a slightly different body kit with a different exhaust, not much to write home to mom about. Are people mainly just payin for the name or what?

Depending on when your truck was manufactured is whether you get the sticker badges on your doors. I have an '05 that does not have the badging because it was built in Oct '04. I believe if your truck was built in '04, you wont get the badging. If it was built in early '05, you will get the badging. Your dealer has the option to add the badging, but if it came from the factory w/ the badges, it will indicate so on your window sticker.
From what my window sticker indicates is the "Big Horn" package includes the 20" wheels, tires, 20" spare, posi-traction, 3.92 gears and the sliding window. Depending on what other package you get, is what you get w/ the Big Horn.
