Big Horn? Lone Star?
They are suposed to be the same thing. Its just that one is sold in other parts of the US and the other of course in the other parts.
I just moved to Washington State and they have not heard of the Lone Star, but they have the Big Horn here. In Texas were I'm from the Lone Star is all over the place and I have never heard of the Big Horn till I moved to Washington.

As far as I know they are the same truck as said before, but I "think" (term used loosely) they are SLT's with some extras. Kind of like the California Hemi Express and the Thunder Road Edition.
OK I have on 05 BIG HORN,.. Here is what my truck came with
Leather
GPS
Sunroof
20's
2 tone black/grey
sliding back window
power everything

The Lone Star Edition has been out far longer then the Big Horn Edition. The Big Horn Edition includes a sun roof and the Lone Star Edition doesnt. That doesnt mean you cant get one with it though. The Lone Sar Edition as Advertised was the all black interior, fog lamps, 20inch wheels and the 3.92 ratio. That is it. But there are a lot of rams in Texas that say Lone Star on them and they have the 17inch wheels and no fog lights. Dodge started producing trucks with the emblem and not adding all the feature. Not a big fan of that! I do like the sun roof in the Horn Edition. Dodge said they could put one in for about $1200

When I bought my '04, I had the choice of an '04 or an '05 4x4 SLT, both with the Big Horn Package. The packages were different, and I took advantage of the huge discounts available on the '04.
My bighorn package came with -
Infinity sound system
Leather seating and wheel wrap
Audio controls on the steering wheel
Under-rail bed liner
Rear seat cargo shelf [extends out to make a complete flat surface with the rear seats up]
The major differences that I can remember that the '05 had -
20" Wheel/Tire combo
Tow package
Cloth seating
Std audio system
no bed liner
3.92 gears
I am sure there are other items I missed, but these were the decision makers for me. The only thing I wish mine had was the tow package, which for under $200 I can purchase from Dodge.
Given that I was able to save $7000 by purchasing the '04, I went with it. I never though the audio controls on the steering wheel would be that big of a deal, now I can't live without them. And the Infinity sound system is really nice as well.
All in all, a great package......

Speaking of the "Lone Star" emblems, my truck came with the "Lone Star" option, but it didn't come with the "Lone Star" emblem (which I really wanted). So I started checking on ebay and some guy was selling it for $10 plus shipping, so I decided to head up to my local Dodge dealer and asked if they had any. He said they did and I asked him how much it was. Nothing was his response. That is the reason you probably see people with the 17" wheels with the "Lone Star" badging. And thank God I didn't fall for buying them on ebay. So if anyone wants "Lone Star" badging, you should be able to pick it up at your local Dodge dealer.
I am picking up my 05 RAM with the "BIG HORN" package (that doesn't come with the sunroof as the "sunshine" or something similar has) but there is no badging referring to "BIG HORN". I did discuss this with my salesman before the sale and I hope I can get the cool stickers put on free from the dealer. Anyone else not get the decals?
