Yeah, a few months back i saw a battery shootout on some car show. I was a optima ***** before that. That show, and another one i found on the internet. The optima's didnt score that much better than a regular battery. The general consensus was that they were not worth the money at all.

They are still a regular batttery in fancy packaging or something like that. it was better to spend the extra cash on a better battery, or keep your standard.

For the cost of an Optima, you can buy two "regular" batteries. I suspect two of those will last longer than one Optima. My truck's at 93K on the OEM battery.

Very Good Point, If For Some Odd or Stupid Reason You Kill Your Battery. And A Cell collapses, They Come With A 2 Year Warranty Now, Or At Least The Last Time I Purchased One.

Back In The Jeep Days I Had A Yellow Top And My Winch + Lights Ate My Alternators But That Optima Only Gave Out Once (Cell Collapsed) and I Had It Replaced Under Warranty.

Now My Red Top Works Great For My System and My Lights. I Have Left My Trucks Lights On Over Night I'll Wake Up And It Cranks Right Up. Never Given Me Trouble.
