I have a 2005 dodge ram 1500 SLT 5.7L hemi..

from what i have seen i hit 170 km/h and it would not go anymore.. is this a governer?

if so is there superchips out for this truck? does anyone have one? what do they cost? what exactly do they change on the ram?

Yes, controlled by the PCM. I think it's at 104 mph, and yes the Superchips Flashpaq model 3815 is for the '04+ Hemi trucks and lets you set it anywhere from stock up to I think 140...

 

I have found out, from many post like this. That the governor is either 104 or 115

 

Yup.......mines 115 stock on my 03.
Plus, my cruise won't set any higher than 87 or 90 mph, from memory.
It's all to do with the computer gremlins etc.

Mine was 108 Mph.

BTW isn't 170 KMH equivalent to around 90 - 95 MPH?

 

I think when I tried mine out it was just over 100 mph

 

I set moms at 140 lol so far we got it to 120 before the lift.

 

i read and contributed to a similar post that stated that if you are tryinig to go 120 or abovein a dodge ram then you probably shouldn't have bought a truck...............don't get me wrong I have gone pedal to the floor forseveral minutes straight and bottomed out around 113mph or so...................and I do like to go fast - the hemi is a wonderful thing.

I would suggest like I have is too put your name on the list for a new challenger or buy a new charger.

I like to now think that my truck isn't built for 110mph plus ............but can beat the sh%^ out of anything else between 0-90..... very quickly
