IS IT POSSIBLE
Is it possible to run on 91 octane rating on stock hemi without super chips? Have you done it before and if you have done refilling stock hemi with 91? Could you provide me information about how it runs on 91 octane rating and its mpg/performance?
Thank you for your time.

all that 91 would do is just clean your injectors good. i don't know about the hemi but my 4.7L runs good on 91 octane. i never run it more than 3 tanks because it has caused mine to run rich in fuel.
Sure, you can use 91. You can use 93, but it isn't necessary unless you are running a chip. I usually use 89, but sometimes I'll mix 1/2 a tank of 89 with 1/2 a tank of 93. That should average out to 91. I'm not sure if it runs any better, and I haven't checked the mileage. Fact is, I haven't taken it on the road since I bought it. That'll change in April, when we go to the G2G in Orlando.

If you want to keep your fuel system clean then go to Top Tier gas stations like Chevron/Shell. They eachadd their owndetergents in the gas...Chevron adds Techron and Shell calls it something like V-power. The cheaper gas stations don't add detergents..

Octane isn't a cleaner...it's the fuels resistance to burning/igniting. You only need a higher octane to prevent detonationif you have a high compression engine, running FI of some kind, performance tune that advances the timing/pulls fuel to run lean, etc. 91/93 octane will ignite the same as 89 once the plug fires, so you shouldn't run rich or rough because of the octane unless you're talking about race gas.

Hemi's "require" minimum 89 octane, read the owners manual. I believe the only way to reap the benefits of a higher octane fuel is to advance the timing of the engine, aka, some type of tuner.
i see but i still want to know what is the mileage when you use the 91 octane rating and so on.....

I used to run 103 octane race gas in my Honda whenI took it to the track. I had to fill it up in a gas can because the gas station didnt want to have any liability. I did it so I could advance the timing and play around with 1/4 mile times (improved only 1/10 of a sec). You could put 91 in your truck no problem but w/o a tune i would highly doubt you would ever see a noticably difference in power or MPG.
I have a suspicion that the fuel cost/mile is better with higher octane, but I don't know for sure. I get about 14.2 mpg with 89 and my normal driving routine. If 91 gets me 14.7 or better, the fuel cost per mile is better than 89. Like I said, I'll know more after the G2G in April. I expect to go to Orlando on a tank of 89 and come back on a tank of 91 (if I can buy 91 there -- I may have to do a mix of 89 and 93 like I sometimes do here). Not super-scientific, but it's the best I can come up with considering no access to dyno and a wind tunnel
