What kind of Travel trailer do you tow?
I am wondering what kind of travel trailer you are towing and with the specs of your truck and your TT. What kind of swap/WD hitch are you using also?
Mine is a '08 1500 QC with the Hemi and is 4x4.
Currently we have a '07 Sunline Que its right about 3500lbs and 19ft ball to bumper. But we are starting to shop larger TT, due to my wife pregnant and needing the added room in the TT down the road. Willbe using a Equalizer hitch that is a carry over from our Grand Cherokee.
I am really interested in the 1500 QC 4x4 w/ the Hemi. But if you don't meet those specs feel free to post up, since this may help someone else down the road.
TIA,
HJ

If you are looking for a new truck go bigger then you have extra for down the road or pulling in the Mt.

2007 1500 Mega Cab, tow package & 4.10 rear with the Hemi - just bought a Springdale 29' with bunks, weight ~6300# empty. Going to pick it up this weekend, actually, but I did alot of research and changed which trailer I was gettinga few times, this is about the biggest you will feasibly pull with this truck (8500# towing max). You can also look at some of the featherweight trailers, where you can get more in the weight class, but we didn't like the layouts or feel of alot of them, plus we got a great price on this one ($15k out the door).
I'll post again when I get it home (5-6 hour trip back) how it went.

I am currently towing a 24ft Ultra Light Voyager (about 4300 dry) and behind it I pull a small Kayak/Canoe Trailer (maybe 500lbs with all gear). I use a weight distribution hitch and very little load in my truck (normally my wife and my dogs, the kids are now to cool to go camping with us....).
I like the daul axle on the trailer it is a much easier tow. I dont pull a heavy TT because I have a lot of mountains here in CO and some of the best camping sites are way up. Look at the untralight TT's. You can get a lot for the price. I also pull with stock 3.92's.. I just keep the OD out when going up the mountains.

2007 4.7l Quad pulling a 2008 Gulf Stream Streamlite. Trailer weighs right at 6000lbs empty. I will have to wait for my current lease to expire so I can upgrade. The 4.7l is working hard, but getting the job done. Be sure you setup the weight distributing hitch correctly. It makes a difference.

We pull a Popup trailer, loaded it is about 3500 lbs. I have 4 people in the truck mininum when we go camping and usually have everything including the sink (thats what it feels like) loaded in the truck and trailer. My truck pulls it just fine with no problems. I have the option of putting a brake controller on for the trailer brakes but I just allow a little extra time stopping.
