I have a 2003 1500, last night I was traveling from San Jose, Ca to San Mateo ~ 45 minute drive. During the drive I would hear 3 warning beeps but no lights came on in the dashboard. This happened about 5 times then on my way home it happened 2 more times. This morning nothing happened. Any ideas?

 

Moved to the 3rd Gen ram section.

 

Did you check all of your gauges?

 

Yes and they all seem to be fine, i've heard possibly it was the temp got tohot but the gauge did not indicate that.

 

do wear your seatbelt? a relitive of mine figured out that his ram dings when he dosn't where his belt

 

Yes always, but then again no idiot lights came on in instrument panel.

 

door not shut all the way perhaps? being in drive and opening a door can cause a ding.

 

My truck does that at 46 miles to empty. Dings a couple of times, shuts up, and does it again. Were you low on gas?

 

hey man, im still new to the forum but i guess i can help.
well this happens to me usually when im about to have a burned out lamp. i hope you can understand my explaination about this issue. sometimes before the lamp get burned out the wires inside the lampare still touching so when the truck shakes then the wire moves so sometimes its lamp out and sometimes its not. and the lamp out on the dash will not light because this process happens very quickly so it just makes the beep. sometimes i have like 7 times in a row..it drives me crazy. btw im from Egypt and im a proud owner of a 2004 4.7 kick *** truck cheers hope i have been helpful......

 

All doors were shut otherwise i'm thinking the idiot light would come on. I've never heard it ding at 46 miles until empty, however, it does ding (1x) when it gets low but I had 1/2 a tank.
