I blew the subs in my truck again...
HELP.....I blew the subs in my truck. I have a quad cab, and the subs go underneath the backseat. Why is that I have already gone through 2 sets of subs. I used to own a car before I bought my truck so I had 12's in the car. When I got the truck I decided to put the subs in the truck, but i blew the speakers the first day that i had them installed. I went to Circuit City and had a perfesssional install. HELP, i dont want to waste money on a third set of subs....
When I had the subs in the car they would make everything rattle. The amp is powerful and the gain is on low....the subs are expensive and i was told they could take some pounding...I had the subs in the car for about 6 months and they were the ****.....but know i dont know y i blew them and another set of subs....

Do you not have warranty on them? Anyway, you need the right amp/sub configuration for a stable system. I had Rockford fosgates in my old car for 4 years and never blew.....and I had it cranked most of the time. Anyway, I really haven't heard great stories about sony systems.....check out rockford fosgate or alpine
I've heard too many horror stories from "professional" installs at circuit city. Do yourself and favor and find a local shop or a friend who knows what they are doing. I'm not saying everyone that works at Circuit City doesn't know what they are doing. If you have blown two sets of subs, you are either overpowering them, or something is not hooked up right. Any professional should know what your amp and subs are capable of. You can also learn alot from different forums online.

Yeah, what is the output of your amp? and the power rating on your subs.
It sounds to me like you have too much juice going to them or have something bridged that shouldnt be. bad ground maybe?
