Default factory radio

Today I took my truck in to have the factory radio replaced with another factory radio because it was messed up. They told me that they had to order another new radio because when they installed it my truck would not start. Has anyone every heard of this? I waited 2 weeks for this one to be installed and now I have to wait another 2 weeks for them to get another radio in. The thing that sucks is they put the old one back in but did not hook it up so I have no radio for 2 weeks. I am wonder if they did not order the right one so just made up the story of it not starting once the new one was installed.

If they didn't hook it up, just pop off the dash trim and plug the harness and antenna back in, voila, fixed.

Mine's a 2005 QC and I just took out the screw on the passenger side of the center panel right inside where a bag hook is located near the cup holders, then pull on the hook and the trim pops right off. 4 screws out and you have access to the back of hte factory radio, plug the harness back in and antenna back in and reinstall.

Oh, and no idea why the truck wouldn't start when they put a new radio in. Maybe they forgot to reconnect the negative battery terminal, lol. I keed I keed. Never heard of something like.

there are 2 screws under the dash when you fold down the cupholder for 06 and up and then the dash just pops off and there are 4 screws for the radio and like steven said just plug the radio and antenna back in and you should have some form of radio, haven't heard anything on why your truck wouldn't start though, i've started my truck with no radio in it at all and i have a 07 so can't help there

I think you need to find a different dealership... something is fishy there.

I agree, I have replaced 100's of radios and 2 things here. It has never taken more that 3 days to get a new radio, most of the time it is in the next day. I have never seen a radio replacement cause a truck not to start. I think that they are telling you BS to buy time, because they didn't order a replacement radio or they just don't want to do the right thing. I would want to see the radio installed into my truck that resulted in it not starting. Just my 2 cents.....

Well I tried to hook the radio back up a couple mins ago the truck did not start up. The radio has only has a plug for 2 things the antenna, a big plug-in, and a small plug-in (sorry not sure what they are)I unplugged everything from the radio and itstarted right up. So I plugged in the smaller of the two plastic plugs and the antenna and the truck will start. So I shut the truck off unplug the small plug and antenna then I plug in the big plug-in and the truck does not start. The radio is the six disc with sat radio. I dont think the radio has any anti-theft device in it. Does anyone have any suggestion??
