I am going to be heading in for my 30K mile service. How do you know when/if they do a complete transmission flush to include the filters if you can't get to the filters before or after?

I have a sneaking suspicion that the dealer that I bought my truck from, (now closed), pulled some of this ****.

I am now at a reputable dealer that shows me my parts after each service and I can see into the shop for the basics. But what about the unseen???

Is it a trust issue? I know one tech can be good and a scumbag in the next service bay. I can't do a transmission flush. Oh, what to do?[&:]

I saw that a year or two ago. I still have the local lube shop change my stuff but I watch them like a hawk from a distance so if they look like they are trying to cheat me I will bring it to their attention but thus far they have not tried to cheat me.

I have customers that buy oil and then they take it to the dealer to be changed and I always recommend they ask for the emptys back. My gf used to work for dodge and has told me stories of them not even puting oil in some untill it was out of the shop. She also just told me more storys of not puting filters back on and not tightning lug nuts

Crooked people. No more integrity in todays society. My Chaplain's wife was taken for a wild ride while we were deployed, she was charged over 1,000 bucks for bogus repairs on a car that isnt even that old.

I change the oil in my both my wife's car and my truck. It doesn't take that long and it is much better than paying $39.95 for the dealer to do a simple oil change and having to wait 3 hours! My first job was at a Kwik Kar Lube and Tune and I will say that the ownerlived above the shop and was like a hawk on the employees making sure that they did everything right, but that was 10 years ago. Nowadaysmost owners are never there and the places are beingmanaged by 18 year old kids that make about$10.00, they don't give a crap about your car of the shop's reputation!
