I guess that saving all your maintenance receipts isn't worth that much. I'm glad I do it myself.

Wow, that's all I can say is Wow!
Makes me wonder if any of the work I have ever paid for has been done. I'm going to have to remember to see the old parts when I have repairs done. At least when I have oil changes done I can see them working on my vehical if I choose to watch.
Unbelievable!

Aint that the truth.
I do all myfluid & filterchanges myself. It's cheaper and I know it's done correctly.
If I ever have to have a part replaced, I'll watch. Then inspect.

We actually have a really good jiffy lube pace here locally, but that is cause its a small town and it's locally owned. I never take it there now but i used to take my jeep there. I would just write on the filter, and take a look at it when they were done.
Also, when you take you rig to a place the has NO actual mechanics, minimal to no training procedures, and minimum wage employees...what do you expect.
IMO, just pay the dealer the 39.95 to do it at least. if you not gonna do it yourself

a guyi went to schoo with who works on cars at one those kind of places said whenever people bring expensive synthetic oils and whatever that they want in there car, they just put regular in there and keep the synthetics for them selves
Use the "mom & pop" type places, not the big chains. Luckily I know a couple of car guys who run very reputable shops that I can trust for anything more involved than I want to do myself.
