Rear Diff Service
No gasket for the 8.25" front or 9.25" rear on the stock 1500's.
Use RTV sealant for both front and rear stock covers and you'll be OK.
The weights mentioned above are correct. 75 /140 in the rear 75 / 90 in front.
Don't forget to subtract the 4oz limited slip diff additive from the total if you have an lsd in the rear.
Also, drive a figure of 8 several times after the diff oil service on the rear if you add the lsd additive in a nearby carpark or somewhere.
This will correctly mix the additive with the rest of the oil.
Oh yeah and............don't ................don't ..............DON'T [sm=trust_me.gif]forget to check your clip retainers in the lsd if you have one. They will either be OK and seated in htere pockets full (imperative you check this) or they will be either already slowly working there way out of there pockets cutting into your carrier, or you will find bits of metal at the bottom of your diff along with real sparkly diff oil.
Hope none of this bad stuff applies to you???
This must be checkeed if you have the stock 1500 lsd. DO NOT FORGET to do this!

I did mine a few weeks back and now have an Auburn LSD on the way. The clips had already started cutting in to the carrier, how deep can they cut before I need to start worring? I take it that I am going to have to change all of the bearings, thanks to the "shiny" oil. Also if I am only changing out the LSD, I should not need to touch the pinion gear, so this would be something I could do myself?
