Wow, that's gotta suck having to drive around with the dash opened up like that. Hopefully you'll be able to get that bezel soon! I'm waiting for my parts to arrive this week for my weekend install.

I'm installing a Kenwood 8017 with nav that I had in my last ride

 

so when you put a navi unit in when you had the regular head unit.....you have to buy the whole bezel that was made from dodge that was built just for the navigation? is that for any unit....including the kenwoods..or just that particualr unit you bought?

the entire install will be finished by the upcomming weekend. which includes, 10" sub under back driver seat, rear flip down screen, headunit of course, ipod hook up, back up camera (for the wife, i know how to drive my truck) blue tooth (because i'm such a savvy businessman) amp mounted somewhere spiffy. and i'll probably be able to post the pics of the hid headlight install by then

 

ya if you could do that..it'd be great. id be so pissed if i did it myself....bought the damn navi and found out i have to fork out more money for a new bezel to fit it.

 

the bezel for the regularheadunit is not a true double din opening. you need the navi bezel for the bigger opening + youdont want the **** cut-outs in your bezel with the new double din hu. It makes for alot cleaner install...well worth $120 in my opinion.

i had an idea before i went through with it, however, i just thought there would be slightly open holes on the sides from the difference in fit. I didn't actually measure the hole size, BIG MISTAKE. oh well, looking at that mess made me learn a lesson, just hope y'all learn from me. lol I'll try and post up a pic the day i get it, which should be tue-thur sometime, depending on availablity of the dash.


on another note, anybody looking for the stock bezel, radio, or inserts? I may keep them, but may sell them off

 

Tried to order it from dodge today, it's on back order. but I got it for 85 bucks.

 

Must be a lot of people doing this for it to be on back order. Did they give you any idea how long? $85 is good. I didn't do too bad on ebay. I paid $103 shipped after I applied an ebay coupon I had.
