Front brake and rotors replacement
I need to teplace my front brakes and rotors. i was wondering what you guys would use. I was looking at these in tire rack, ROTORand BRAKES. are these a good choice? I know that my rotors are warped, is it cheeper to just get these rotors then to get the ones i have trurned? How much does it cost to get my front rotors turned? Thanks for any help!

I've run Brembo rotors on my Honda and while I loved the first set the second one was warped in about 6 months. They seem to be okay quality though.
I thought about replacing the rotors on my truck but didn't see spending all that money when a local shop would turn them for $20 for the pair. $20 vs $140-290 if I got them from the dealer. I had gotten them from the dealer last time so just had them turned for $20. I like replacing them better but when it's so much more to replace them I'd get them turned unless they are too thin to turn.
I've never heard of those brake pads or that brand. I'd probably go with Hawk, EBC, or Raybestos. That way you know you are going with a name brand pad. I had Raybestos and liked them but they didn't last super long. Then I tried OEM pads from the dealer. They didn't last long either as they cracked. This time I was going to go Hawk as I've heard nothing but good about them but I didn't get them in time so this time I went with top of the line Raybestos from the parts store. Hopefully they will last. I am keeping the Hawk ones for the next time.
I've heard nothing but good about Hawk pads, Raybestos is also a great brand, and I've heard mixxed things about EBC but heard a lot of good things about them too.

thanks for the info, i just liked the brembo's cause i had put some on my camry and they have been on there for at least 70,000 mi, and they are still good. I wasn't sure on the brakes thogh. But, thanks for the info. I would like to turn them, but im not shure if they are too thin, i have 108,000 mi now.
I went with the stuff on I posted above. I've used the Bremborotors and the Akebono together on my other cars and I liked them, they have lasted a long tome. I NEEDED the set for the front, then descided to order a set for the rear...ill need to do then in a couple of months...it was $416 for 4 rotors and 4 pads and shipping.
The Baer rotors are very nice also and a bit more than the power slots, but either way with the Hawk pads equals a good combo over the stock set up. I have never heard of those pads that you got, hope they work for ya.

And remember that cars do weigh a lot less than trucks, so just because those worked in your cars doesn't really mean they will do exactly the same in your truck, your unsprung weight in your truck is much higher than any car and that affects braking i.e. pads and rotors a lot.
