what kind of sub amp set-up are you guys running in your trucks? i have one of those custom sub boxes that fits under the rear seat in my 02 1500...i have 2 12" JL W3v3-4's powered by a kicker 750 class d mono block amp...in any other box they sound great....with this application, not so great.... and these normally THUMP...

Its becuase the box under the backseats are not enough air space. My type R in a 2cu ft ported box makes my headliner shake and my rear window vibrate insanly. Any way my box is sitting up right behind the driver seat with the rear 60 seat folded up. I was going to go with that set up but for the price of a box like that i would rather loose one seat and have it bump like crazy. It cool becuase i have a switch to my amp and quick disconnect to my box so i can yank it in a minute.

yea, i know its because the box isnt big enough...but im sure there is a sub out there that is meant tobe used in a box that small...i was just asking because i dont want ot lose the back seats becasue my truck has the solid rear bench....ya know?? so for me to get any other kind of box, buying a quad cab would have been 100% pointless... but i really like bass... i've had pretty much every setup in every configuration, wired every different way, with every different size/design box...this is a tough decision...i really dont put people in my back seat, but like i said, then its pointless to have a quad cab..

although, if i cant find anything better very soon, my next projet is 4 w3's in the bed, custom box, gaping whole in cab/bed w/cab accordian and then it will be amazing....but for now i need a better solution

yea there are subs that are meant to run in small airspace applications but they arnt' going to be able to handle 750 w rms like the jl w3's will. ur gonna have to downsize to like w1's

Trufully JL is way over rated they sound great but for the price rheres other stuff out there. as far is puting subs in the bed thats insane. It would be better to make a enclosure under the bed and have it vent into the cab that way theres still a bed. but if you want big bass get 2 kicker solo x. there loud.

yea except the kicker solo x's have the sound quality of a monkey with a drum. yes JL audio is expensive but that's what gets you sound quality. if you want loud buy kicker or some of the other cheaper stuff. If you want somethign that will sound good and you will enjoy listening to ur system for long periods of time go JL

i have 2 12'[ jbls that fit in a box under my backseat and with my seat down all the time it still pounds the bass out, if your sitting still and have it cranked the whole truck will shake with a good deep note and i have a 600w jblamp on them so i'm sure they would handle 750 if you turned it down just a hair, you may try a different box mine is mad by fox acoustics
