Hey Guys! Awesome forum. I purchased my 04 Quad Cab 5.7L 2 weeks ago and have been monitoring this board since. 2 Simple questions as the others have been answer by those stickied topics for newbs.

my truck does not have fog lights, but has the places for them in the bumper. Just wondering what the best fog lights are to get that just drop right into that hole. Links would be great. Also i wanted some brighter lights and was thinking of goin projectors or HID's. Whats the difference? Also im no mechanic and the easier to install the better. Just looking for fog lights that will drop right in, and just wanted to know what goes along with installing them. Any help is awesome, and this forum Rocks!

ps. Ill get pics of the truck when i can as ive seen them requested from new members before.
Just to let you know about the H.I.D.s, True HID headlights Are insanely brighter more light output.
The kits that use your stock housing, will not perform as good due to the fact of not having the lenses and the projector housings that factory HID lights have.
If you do decide to get the Kit from ebay or Something, They offer "Color Options" the brightist most output color is 4100K or 4300K Bulb this is closest to "Daylight", afterthat it goes up what they call color 6000K Blueish 8000K Blue 10000K like Purple, But as you go up the color scale, the Light Output Decreases..

IN Short What Im Saying is If you Get a HID Kit get the 4100k or 4300k depending on the kit. This will Net the Cleanest and Most Light Output.

( Real Factory HIDs Create color from the Cuts and angles in the Glass projector Lense, and are 4100k 4300k )

Sometime in the Summer maybe, I will be doing a true Bixenon(Bixenonmeans it does highs and lows)Projector Retrofit,
and i will do a How to when I do...

Yes, you need the switch that pulls out. It also has a little fog light symbol that lights up when the fog lights are on.

You do not need to pull the dash. The switch is held in place with a small face plate (see green outline in first attached picture). The face plate is held in place with 4 clips. Simply put your fingers behind the face plate and pull gently. To replace the switch, remove the wiring connector, remove the three mounting screws to freethe switch assembly, install new switch assembly, replace three mounting screws, reconnect wiring and pushing face plate back into dash being careful to make sure the clips are aligned.

WOW those visual aids are VERY helpful. Foglights ordered through a buddy at the dealer, we shall see how the install goes. Any trick to getting that grill thing out of the bumper so i can put the foglights in? I fideled with it while i was checking for the wires, but couldnt figure out how it comes out. This is my first REAL truck and i dont wanna break anything, she my baby. Im sure you guys know what i mean.

ps. This is the last question on this topic, sorry true newb here.

The bezel is thin and somewhat soft and is held in place with three plastic hooks. I didn't know about the hooks so I just went in there and squished the bezela little and pulled them out from the front. I did this in the cold and it was a little painful but I did not damage them.

Knowing what I know now (lucky for you), I suggest going under your bumper and using a screw driver to release the hooks from the back. If you look here you can see one of the hooks. Theword "Bezel" on the right hand side is actually pointing to one of the hooks. You only need to release one hook to allow you to angle the bezel and pull it out from the front.
