My SRT does better than that

Man, low tires?
Something blocking air into the TB?
Octane? Should be running 89.
For kicks take it on the highway, set the cruise at 60, then hit the reset. MPG should jump to 20ish, if not that is another indication of an issue.

Check all of that. Reset and drive for a couple days. If it is that low I would take it directly to the dealer.

wow, I have the same truck as you except it's a 07 with a catback....if i'm light on the gas I get 15ish city and 22+ going 65. I couldn't get mine to 6.3 even ifI tried...the lowest i've had it in the city is around 12mpg.

The first thing i'd do is make sure you're not getting excessive drag from somewhere...jack the truck up and spin the wheels, coast during low speeds and see if you slow down faster then usual.

How does the engine run? The engine is new so a tune-up is out but you could check the gapping of the plugs...make sure nothing is restricting the intake (besides the hemi hat).

How many miles are on that average? If i reset mine right as i am pulling out of the gas station, it reads under throttle and drops like a rock. takes a few mile to climb back up the 13.7-14.5 it's been reading in town.

In town low to mid 13's and highway is around 16.7 to 17ish. And that's with lift, winch, 35" tires, a toolbox with at least 250 lbs. of recovery stuff and tools. My truck weighs in at just under 1700 lbs. with my toolbox full and nothing else but my fat *** (270 lbs) in the driver seat at the land fill scale. And with an 04, I don't have MDS...
You keep getting that reading for over a tank or two and it's time to see the dealer...

My last trip back home brought the best mileage I've seen out of my truck... Filled her up, drove home, and filled up once I got home, 21.2 mpg all highway!!! I was so happy!!! lol

But on a serious note, around town mine rarely goes below 12 mpg, and I definantly don't baby my truck... On a regular cab, I would be taking it back to the dealership... Get them to look it over, something is wrong somewhere if you are not seeing at least over 10mpg in the city...

My overhead lies more than miss cleo, probably your overhead is just plain wrong. However, if it does prove to be accurate, +1 for taking it in to have it checked, something is definately wrong if your engine is chugging that much firewhiskey.

uhhhh... youve got problems. do you reset the mpg reader when you get onto the hwy? if you do and its still at 13-14, go to the dealer and be like "wtf is this bull ****? sticker said xx mpg on hwy and im getting 13-14."

at a steady 60 mph
on a fairly level highway
with less than 5 mph wind from any direction
over 100 or more miles
even a 4x4 Ram 5.7 with stock tires and no tonneau
should get better than 20 to 22 MPG
figured by hand from gas pump to gas pump.

That is about the only way to tell if the engine is 'healthy'
as city MPG varies way too much 'naturally'
and it would take looking at 6 tank fulls or more to find a 'dependable' average

on concrete highways the MPG will be more
with as little as a 3.3 mph tail wind your MPG will go up by 1
with as little as a 3 mph head wind your MPG will go down by 1
with as little as a 6 mph side wind your MPG will go down by 1

Chrysler just admitted that the C.A.D. front axle hurts MPG by 1 compared to old fashioned front axle disconnect hubs

https://dodgeforum.com/m_1232427/tm.htm

so counting the lack of extra weight
a 2wd Ram will be better by 1.5 to 2 MPG

Gasoline does vary in btu by 9% so that can influence things too

Damn man that sucks. I average 14mpg city with a lead foot, and best highway was just over 20. How much do you sit idling?
