Check out Romeosoldiers 06 1500. He has a 2.5 topguncustomz leveling kit and a 3in performance accessories body lift and he is running 36" iroks...his truck looks awesome! From what I hear, its alot of work & time to do a body lift but definetely a great bang for your buck. What tires are you looking to run?

Unless you are into heavy off-roading, there is nothing wrong with a well built body lift. You'll want to combo it with a level kit, as unlike suspension kits, you'll still have that "nose down" look with just a body lift. I've done a three on my own trucks and helped a few others install them on their trucks and think there is a lot more to doinga suspension kit (although my current truck is the only one I've done - so that may be some of it). Get a good name brand kit made specifically for your truck so that you'll have any extensions(steering, brake lines, etc.)and brackets (like for the bumper) that you'll need. Also spend the little extra on the gap guards, it'll look tons better. The biggest thing is to make sure you don't pinch any lines or cables (been there, done that) and you should be able to do the install in the garage or driveway with someone to help, air & hand tools, jack stands and a good jack...
