something wierd over the winter, help!
i have experiance working on cars/trucks but this one kinda stumped me so maybe someone that has more knowledge of Rams can help.
Over the winter we had 2 weeks of COLD as hell days, im talking 2-5 degrees with 20-25 mile and hours winds.
The Ram (02 QC Auto 4x4 4.7L) throttle would stick, the wife took it to work and i think it pegged or close to on her after she got out of the drive way and to the stopsign.
when i drove it it was like you push the gas pedal down aninch, then it took 1-2 seconds to come back a half inch, then another 2-3 seconds to fully come back to idle.
I checked for ice on around the throttle body and throttle cable. When we finally got a 10 degree day i sprayed silicone lube on the return springs and throttle cable (while the wife was pumping the gas pedal) and it saw minimal improvement.
Once the truck warmed up it wouldnt do it as bad or hardly at all, but the first 20 mins or so you had to watch out for ice or you were going off the road or fishtailing bad.
once the weather got warmer, maybe back in the 15-20 degrees it stopped doing it.
Any ideas guys?

im guessing exactly what you said.....or....and im guessing.....maybe some kind of module or something that controls the throttle froze up.....im ignorant here but good luck keep us posted
no, that pic was after this problem, but that not to say some snow didnt get up around and on all the throttle cable and springs around the throttle body, we had alot of drifting this winter. It only did it when it was severly cold for that week or so, i dont know maybe when it got warmer some of the silicone lube helped out
