the mpg in the overhead unit is avg only hence the avg next to the milage digits however if you hold the reset it will take a reading like every 1/8th of a second or so....pretty accurate so if you can swing holding down the reset while driving watching the road and ur digits at the same time ur good.......check ur rpms when your doing this see where your best gas milage is at in each gear try to keep it there for optimum gas milage.......by the way this is true i swear so all other words denied

i filled up today too. city was stuck between 8.3-9.1. when i got on the freeway, my mpg went up to 19.4. floated between 18.9-19.4. but if i reset when i hopped onto the freeway, id easily be above 20mpg. but my gas station was about 1/2 mile from the freeway. 20 min. south on the freeway. then did about 10-15 min. of city driving. went down to 14-ish. got back on the freeway for 20 minutes. went up to 17.5ish. then i just got back home from 20 min of city and its at 14.3 right now in my driveway.

The guys getting into the 20's on MPG are the ones with 06 and up MDS Hemi's. If you can keep it in the MDS mode...you will see above 20MPG on the interstate.
