Hmmm, mine is an '05 and I have a TSB for the Drip seals around the doors. I called to take it into the dealership and they told me that I would have to pay for it. I told them that I bought the extended warranty when I purchased the vehicle last November. Then I asked specifically if my truck had the 7/70k warranty and they told me no that it was only on '06 and above. So WTF gives? If I had the 7/70k warranty I would have never shelled out the $1700 for the extended one.
all 05 1500's have a 7 year 70k mile warranty i promise the lady at chrysler told me so look at my first post and call them have ur vin number ready just trust me we all have 7/70k now.....

7/70 is just the drive train (engine, transmission, rear end) but everything else is not covered. The 3/36 is bumper to bumper so EVERYTHING is covered. If you got the 3/36 bumper to bumperextended then that was a smart move as it will cover pretty much everything that can go wrong. Now the 3/36 on aused truck/carI believe was just the drive train and not the bumper to bumper so again it only covers the engine/transmission/rear end. So basically it should just benifit the people who bought their trucks used.
Yeah Dodge really screwed us 06 owners. 05 and older got the 7/70 powertrain warranty, and 07 and newer got the lifetime warranty. Makes me pretty mad actually, since these transmissions are garbage.
Ok, just to sum up what the folks at Chrysler Warranties just told me........No one ever gets an upgrade to a greater warranty (i.e. 7/70k if you had the 3/36k originally), and that depending on when and where your vehicle was built decides which warranty you ended up with. Mine has a build date of Sep '04 but it is a '05 year model. So, it only came with the 3/36k warranty. I could buy a powertrain warranty if I wanted, but I explained to the lady that I bought a extended warranty when I bought the truck. I was just trying to verify some info that I had heard via the grapevine. So I am by no means calling anyone a liar......I am just relaying what I was told straight from the horses mouth. Don't shoot the messenger!
