ok .... maybe ive confused some.....the origional factory warranty for the 05 rams were 3 year 36k.....i bought mine used so it transferred.....because they have been having so many problems with the tranny that was in the 05 year they have u[pdated to a 7 year 70k powertrain......considerin i have had my tranny rebuilt so many times.......it seems to be the accumulators everytime plus the cluth and the filters seem to shift out of alignment as well.......this new dealership i took my truck to said that who ever has been rebuilding it before screwed it up bad....anyway wed/thur im suppose to get it back ill let you guys know how its running but anyone with an 05 model needs to check this out......im still saving for the 45 rfe tranny i want it.....when i get it im going to gut the stock tranny out and rebuild it myself when i do ill do a DIY.....never done a tranny before but it cant be too hard.....anyway i hope this helped everyone out

Hmmm, mine is an '05 and I have a TSB for the Drip seals around the doors. I called to take it into the dealership and they told me that I would have to pay for it. I told them that I bought the extended warranty when I purchased the vehicle last November. Then I asked specifically if my truck had the 7/70k warranty and they told me no that it was only on '06 and above. So WTF gives? If I had the 7/70k warranty I would have never shelled out the $1700 for the extended one.

7/70 is just the drive train (engine, transmission, rear end) but everything else is not covered. The 3/36 is bumper to bumper so EVERYTHING is covered. If you got the 3/36 bumper to bumperextended then that was a smart move as it will cover pretty much everything that can go wrong. Now the 3/36 on aused truck/carI believe was just the drive train and not the bumper to bumper so again it only covers the engine/transmission/rear end. So basically it should just benifit the people who bought their trucks used.

Yeah Dodge really screwed us 06 owners. 05 and older got the 7/70 powertrain warranty, and 07 and newer got the lifetime warranty. Makes me pretty mad actually, since these transmissions are garbage.

Ok, just to sum up what the folks at Chrysler Warranties just told me........No one ever gets an upgrade to a greater warranty (i.e. 7/70k if you had the 3/36k originally), and that depending on when and where your vehicle was built decides which warranty you ended up with. Mine has a build date of Sep '04 but it is a '05 year model. So, it only came with the 3/36k warranty. I could buy a powertrain warranty if I wanted, but I explained to the lady that I bought a extended warranty when I bought the truck. I was just trying to verify some info that I had heard via the grapevine. So I am by no means calling anyone a liar......I am just relaying what I was told straight from the horses mouth. Don't shoot the messenger!
