I have had my truck for about 5 months now. I went under her and for rust under the rear bumper. I have had it replicate all ready. I thought that I would give you guys a heads up about this and to see if any one else has had this happen to them.

 

I know this was a problem on the new tundras, but toyota wouldn't replace the bumpers...the truck was between 2-3 months old.

 

i crawled under my truck the other day and saw the same this on the inside of my rear bumper. You dodge dealer just replaced it for you without any problems? How did you approach them?

 

I just went to the collision center (the dealers) and told them that I had rust on my bumper. They came out and toke a look and some pic and said that you will get a call about the bumper once the manger looks at the pic. They call me back the same day and tolled me thatthey haveorder it for me.They got the bumper in two days and put it on the same day. It toke them about 30 mines to put on.

 

Where is this so called rust? I don't think my 07 was plaqued with that problem... but then again... You don't find trouble when you don't go lookin for it... Tho i did notice that the chrome on my 05... had a pitting look due to the exhaust.. but cleaned up with chrome polish....

 

nice to know, though I asked the dealer about a tear in my seat on the seam, and they said it's from having tools in my pocket...fockers

 

Dodge has a warrenty on the body...if i remember right, 5 years. Unless of course a grocery cart smacked and chipped the door. So far, (knock on wood), the only problem i had was the cab and box werent alligned properly. 1 hour after i pointed that out to em, she was fixed. Ill be sure to crawl around my truck. Thanks for the heads up.

 

I too have rust on therear bumper of my '07 Ram. Unfortunately, I can't take it to the dealer because it is in the body shop having 2 new doors installed after some guy backed into it. Hopefully the dealership won't give me any grief about replacing the rusty bumper. It makes me wish I would have spent the extra cash for painted bumpers instead of chrome.
