Alright Alright i guess it aint going to happen. THe reason why i asked is because this kid i hate just got a vette. I would be priceless to see his face if i had a TRUCK that could out run his car....BUT obviousuly it aint going to happen w/o me dishing out LOTS of moola....OH well!
So, drop $8K on a Japanise inline 4 supersport motorcycle. Line up against the Vette... you win.
I like the bike idea,

I would go with a Hayabusa

You wouldn't need a hayabusa, you shouldbe able to do it with any600 made by the top 4. but if you want to be sure there isn't asnowball's chance in hell of being caughti'd use a litre bike. any fuel injected 600 should be able to take a vette as long as it's the right person riding. 6k for a used bike a few mods and your money

oh its possible.....youd need a stage three tranny with a 5,000 rpm stall..... stroked and bored motor with some after market heads running larger compression, racing cam, headers and collector exhaust....procharger....... not to mention a beefed up rear end and a heavy duty drive shaft and some suspention mods.......

my t/a could keep up with z06's but i had 6,000 dollars into the engine and another 3,000 in the suspension......why do it with a ram when the srt-8 challenger is coming out

Put a trailor hitch on the vette, and a 5,000 pound trailer behind you and him.

Line up on the drag strip. You'll wax his ***!!!

i had a 69 chevelle street/strip car with a $5500 454 (650hp). the best i got was 11.69 with 2 lobes wiped off the cam. after that i got a 57 chevy with a 393 small block dynoed at 552hp and had $9000 in that one. i never took it to the track but it was probably a low 11 car. then another $1500 in the trannys and probably thousands in the driveline and suspension.
point is, even if you dropped a 750hp engine in the ram you will still never touch a vette without thousands more in the suspension and driveline. your looking at a minimum of $20000 additional into it to keep up. trucks weren't made for this. use it for what it is. you want to shut him up tell him to meet you in the strip mine.

Me and my friends where discussing the other night about if it is possible to make a 04 QC Ram, hemi of coarse into a truck powerful enough to out run a stock 05-06 vette. Now i said it could be done with significat modifications, bored out, injectors, torqe converter, springs, rods, camshafts, and plugs wires...Of coarse the final touch SUPERCHARGER!!!!!!!NOw my frds said it cant be done without having to sell a lung and kidney.....lol...I said bull**** it can be done and will be done! haha....What do you guys think??????
You would have more luck building a cummins. It would be cheaper, and would put out 3 times as much power for the same price it would be to build that hemi to beat a vette. Look for a single cab, short bed 03-05 CTD. 4WD you could launch without spinning the tires much, so there would be no need to feather the throttle at all.

I'm about to eyeball the CTD section of the site for more info on this truck...

The other night on the Pass Time show on Speed (awesome show BTW), they had a stock-looking 2006 Ram 2500 CTD regular cab. The guy said he had a couple of stacked programmers & exhaust. Well, he fooled us all because the damn thing ran like an 11.5 @ 125, and that was a 2WD truck!

It was one of the best sleepers I've ever seen.
