Me and my friends where discussing the other night about if it is possible to make a 04 QC Ram, hemi of coarse into a truck powerful enough to out run a stock 05-06 vette. Now i said it could be done with significat modifications, bored out, injectors, torqe converter, springs, rods, camshafts, and plugs wires...Of coarse the final touch SUPERCHARGER!!!!!!!NOw my frds said it cant be done without having to sell a lung and kidney.....lol...I said bull**** it can be done and will be done! haha....What do you guys think??????

 

Anything can be done if you got the money, but you will need lots of mods to do it since a good driver can put a stock vette into the 11's in the 1/4 mile.

 

Very True. Now here's another question, can it be done with upgrades like cams, springs, headers, tuner, torque converter, and upgrade the rear to maybe 4.10?? I think i might have a shot.....

 

I think it's a waste of time and money... Why are you trying to convert a work truck to beat a vehicle that was made for 1/4 mile???

In all seriousnous, you've got a lot against you here.

1 - Aerodynamics, the ram is about as aerodynamic as a brick.

2 - Power, you're trying to beat a sports car that has 500 HP stock.

3 - Weight, your ram is almost 3,000 lbs heavier than the vette...

It can be done, but not practically, and definantly not cheap....

 

1. LOL...very true. but that could be fixed with some mods.

2. Are you sure its 500hp stock, i'm not talking about the ZO6.

3. I think it can be done with about $3k worth of work to the engine....BUT i could be wrong though...

You would still be seeing the tail lights of the vette with that.

In all honesty, I think you would have to do an engine swap to the largest hemi you could find, a supercharger, a 2 stage 200 shot of NOS, drop the truck to the ground, something insane to the gears, and do some major weight reductions to the truck. THEN you might have a chance against a stock vette. You should be able to get all that done for around the $30k to $40k mark...LOL

 

If you're not talking the Z06, then you still have to beat a 400 HP 3,000 lb sports car....

Also if you're not talking a Z06, then you're not talking about a real Vette...
