Default Noob Lift ?

Hello everyone!
I have a 2004 dodge ram 1500 2wd. The scenario is that I have a friend that wants to sell me some 36" tires on 16.5" rims. What will I need, lift wise, to make these rims and tires fit. I was thinking along the lines of a 3" body lift and the leveling kit that I have seen people talk on here about. The reason for the body lift over a suspension lift is because I am a college student....enough said.
Thanks in advance for your replies.

16.5s = No Good, won't fit. MMStar is correct, 17's minimum.

Quit college, get a job, get a suspension lift & 35's on some nice 17" wheels. Education is over-rated...
